Outside Storage Containers

During the more temperate times of year, many people move a great part of their life outdoors. Patio furniture, for example, has come a long way from the strappy, lightweight folding chair. There are now full rooms of furniture, complete with cushions and other decorative elements, to create outdoor living spaces.

Not only do we relax outdoors, we also cook on our propane grills, with all their wonderful accessories, we swim in our pools and enjoy our pool toys and then we break out our work tools and we garden. Even those living in apartments are taking advantage of their balconies to create these opportunities for outdoor living.

All well and good until, inevitably, the seasons change and then what happens? All of these wonderful items need to be stored – and, so, the headache begins. In a majority of cases, outdoor living must STAY outdoors. We don't have the room (nor often the inclination) to bring dirty tools or bulky furniture into our homes and basements. This means people must explore outside storage containers.

Fortunately, there are companies offering excellent options. Suncast, for one, may appeal to the apartment dweller with their Balcony Box. With an interior capacity of roughly 27 x 16 by 27 high, this box is perfect for the small tools and accessories of container gardening.

Rubbermaid is one of the kings of outside storage chests, benches and storage units. Offering everything from deck boxes to vertical and horizontal storage sheds and their ever-popular Rubbermaid storage bench, they take the guesswork out of what to do with everything from the patio furniture cushions to the riding lawn mower.

Finally, when one has serious storage needs, there are new outside storage units that are growing in popularity. Called PODS (or Portable On Demand Storage), these units are delivered to the home to be filled and then carted away to the storage facility. They represent an excellent way to handle the seasonal stress of requiring large outside storage containers.
